Favorite Family Recipes
We all have favorite family recipes passed on from generation to generation.
Every now and then we get brave and take a favorite family recipe and change it a little.
It might not be much of a change…maybe an extra teaspoon of cinnamon, or maybe less salt.
The point is, we can take Nana’s apple cake recipe and make it our own, then give it to our children.

Ground beef and onions rolled in dough are a hit at our home. Don't be afraid to smother them with gravy, and serve them with mashed potatoes and a vegetable.
- 1/3 cup onions chopped
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- salt & pepper to taste
- 3/4 lb ground beef
- 2-1/4 cup Bisquick Pancake & Baking Mix
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1/4 cup Bisquick Pancake & Baking Mix for rolling dough
Preheat oven to 450° F
Saute the onions in the olive oil until transparent. Add ground beef to onions. Cook halfway and drain grease.
Combine Bisquick and milk. Stir until mix no longer sticks to the side of the bowl.
Sprinkle some of the Bisquick on your counter top before rolling the dough. Roll the dough with a rolling pin into the shape of a 10" x 14" rectangle, sprinkling Bisquick as needed so the dough doesn't stick to the rolling pin or the counter top.
Place filling on top of rolled dough. Starting at the narrow end, roll the dough and filling into the shape of a log.
Cut 1" slices of the roll and place on an ungreased baking sheet.
