Caregiver Memes are on this page because they mean something to me. Caregivers are certainly a special breed. First of all, we didn’t know we were going to be Caregivers. It just happened. We have the ability to go on autopilot for weeks at a time. It’s up to us make sure our loved ones receive the medical, physical and psychiatric care they need. There are many types of situations where Caregiving is needed. Traumatic Brain Injury, Dementia, and Alzheimer’s Disease are the ones that are closest to my heart. That’s another reason I feature Caregiver Memes on my page.
How to Help
If you know a Caregiver, give him or her a hug because you appreciate their hard work. Caregivers need taken care of, too! Most noteworthy, one online resource that was very helpful to me when I started my Caregiving journey can be found at Caregiver.com. You try to have super powers, but you will certainly need help. Therefore, don’t be afraid to ask family and friends to pitch in so you can have some “me time.” I learned that too late. Now it’s the first piece of advice I give to new Caregivers.
